We are all born as individuals. We all have our unique qualities, abilities, gifts and attributes. I strongly believe that we are all here with a purpose. Some of us are providers, some of us are educators, some of us empower others, some of us bring laughter into the room, some of us have such broad shoulders that we carry the whole world on them, some of us are warriors…we protect anything and anybody, some of us heal others, some of us are great speakers, some of us are great listeners…I could go on and on.
A lot of us have no idea what our purpose is. We feel lost because we don’t know why we’re here and what we’re supposed to be doing so we’re forever searching. We find it hard to see or accept our unique gifts, qualities and attributes.
When we find out what our purpose is, that’s when we start to live life to the full and when we figure out how to use our gifts and abilities in order to help others, that’s when we start to feel fulfilled.
How do we find out what our purpose is? We focus on our passions and inspirations. We follow our hearts. It has taken me many years to figure out who I truly am and what I am all about. I’ve always loved people.The thing that used to make me the happiest was putting a smile on somebody’s face. I was able to do it easily and yet no idea how. Amongst people, I thrive. Over the years, it became more and more apparent to me that helping others is my purpose. It makes me super happy .
Life is unpredictable. Controlling the future is like trying to grab hold of a fistful of water so it’s easy to become overwhelmed. We have all passed many milestones to be where we are now. Some challenges have been more difficult that others but thanks to those challenges, we are who we are today and there’s a lot to be said for life experience when it comes to helping others. We have developed beliefs and strategies based on our past experiences.Some serve us well, some don’t. We experience a whirlwind of emotions…some great, some not so great. Learn how to turn those so called negative emotions into powerful motivators in order to propel you forward, to drive you to achieve your goals and other great things.
What if when you feel angry you could channel that anger towards working harder, learning more, being more determined and powerful? What if rather than becoming aggressive or self sabotaging you could stubbornly prove to yourself just how valuable you are? What if instead of feeling sadness, hurt, fear and guilt you could feel a sense of freedom and acceptance? What if those so called negative emotions could be your new chapter in the book of life?
It all comes down to focus.What do you choose to focus on? Focus on following your heart, focus on controlling your thoughts and emotions, focus on loving yourself and on finding your purpose.
And…if life becomes a rollercoaster, bring yourself back to right now, breathe and be grateful for that breath because right now is guaranteed. Right now is your opportunity to make new choices and new decisions. Right now, be thankful for your health, the health of the people you love, the water you drink and the food you eat. Right now, you’re safe. Right now, our hearts are beating. Pause, re-focus and carry on, onwards and upwards.
Life is for living, love is for giving and the receiving will come 💕xxx
