Hi and welcome to my website.

I am Flavia, a mum, a wife and in some people’s eyes a bubbly nut job :-). I love life and I am totally addicted to love, flowers, laughter …oh…and chocolate. I’ve always been this bubbly but at times, the bubbliness was hidden under lots of issues. I mean, if you can think of anything silly or self destructive anybody could ever do, I’ve probably done it. A lot to be said for life experience when it comes to helping others 🙂

As we are all under constant demands, stress and anxiety are the biggest issues in most people’s lives. They are directly linked to many health issues so the most important thing to do in order to improve health and well being is to remove stress and anxiety. Our subconscious is responsible for maintaining the body in good health. Breathing, blood circulation, tissue repair, blood sugar level…they are all autonomic processes. They are run in the unconscious. The same goes for our emotions, therefore directing almost all behaviors. All our learning is stored in the subconscious.

Let’s make life happy and exciting. That amazing control room in your subconscious can achieve wonderful things 🙂 You are in control of you! You can achieve the best version of you 🙂 I use a mixture of Hypnosis, NLP, Life Coaching and Counselling is most of my sessions. The initial consultation is free with no obligation and we determine the number of sessions needed at this point, depending on issues. Invest in you 🙂

Stress

Stress is the feeling of being under too much mental or emotional pressure.

Pressure turns into stress when you feel unable to cope. People have different ways of reacting to stress, so a situation that feels stressful to one person may be motivating to someone else.

Many of life’s demands can cause stress, particularly work, relationships and money problems. And, when you feel stressed, it can get in the way of sorting out these demands, or can even affect everything you do.

Stress can affect how you feel, think, behave and how your body works. In fact, common signs of stress include sleeping problems, sweating, loss of appetite and difficulty concentrating.

You may feel anxious, irritable or low in self-esteem, and you may have racing thoughts, worry constantly or go over things in your head. You may notice that you lose your temper more easily, drink more or act unreasonably.

You may also experience headaches, muscle tension or pain, or dizziness.

Stress causes a surge of hormones in your body. These stress hormones are released to enable you to deal with pressures or threats – the so-called “fight or flight” response.

Once the pressure or threat has passed, your stress hormone levels will usually return to normal. However, if you’re constantly under stress, these hormones will remain in your body, leading to the symptoms of stress.

Managing stress in daily life

Stress is not an illness itself, but it can cause serious illness if it isn’t addressed. It’s important to recognise the symptoms of stress early. Recognising the signs and symptoms of stress will help you figure out ways of coping and save you from adopting unhealthy coping methods, such as drinking or smoking.

There is little you can do to prevent stress, but there are many things you can do to manage stress more effectively, such as learning how to relax, taking regular exercise and adopting good time-management techniques.

Studies have found that mindfulness courses, where participants are taught simple meditations across a series of weeks, can also help to reduce stress and improve mood.

Recognising your stress triggers

If you’re not sure what’s causing your stress, keep a diary and make a note of stressful episodes for two-to-four weeks. Then review it to spot the triggers.

Things you might want to write down include:

* the date, time and place of a stressful episode

* what you were doing

* who you were with

* how you felt emotionally

* what you were thinking

* what you started doing

* how you felt physically

* a stress rating (0-10 where 10 is the most stressed you could ever feel)

You can use the diary to:

* work out what triggers your stress

* work out how you operate under pressure

* develop better coping mechanisms

Doctors sometimes recommend keeping a stress diary to help them diagnose stress.

Take action to tackle stress

There’s no quick-fix cure for stress, and no single method will work for everyone. However, there are simple things you can do to change the common life problems that can cause stress or make stress a problem. These include relaxation techniques, exercise and talking the issues through.

Because talking through the issues is one of the key ways to tackle stress, you may find it useful to attend a stress management group or class. The classes help people identify the cause of their stress and develop effective coping techniques.

Panic Attacks

One of the symptoms of anxiety is panic attacks: a sudden, intense wave of fear. The symptoms of a panic attack include chest pains, breathing difficulties, nausea, dizziness, terror, fear of dying, fear of losing control, flushes or chills and a tingling or numbness in the hands. The experience of panic attacks can be so terrifying that you may go to extraordinary lengths to avoid situations that may trigger another distressing episode.

Sufferers of panic attacks often worry about the implication or consequences of their attacks. For example, a person experiencing a panic attack may think they’re having a heart attack, or that they are losing control or “going crazy”. These episodes can be frightening and confusing.

Anxiety is a natural reaction that everyone experiences from time to time – it’s part of our fight or flight response which helps us to be alert for potentially dangerous or fearful situations such as coming face to face with a vicious dog. If you suffer frequent or intense feelings of fear, apprehension and worry in situations where most other people would not, I can help.

Feedback from my Clients

I have met and helped a lot of wonderful people. I love it when someone lets me know how they feel their therapy went and whatever the feedback they send me I post it here for all to see 🙂

Flavia is a really great therapist. I was not in a good place at all when I decided I needed help and FAST! My life really started to feel like one big rollercoaster ride and I just couldn’t get off! To be honest it got to the point where I just couldn’t take anymore of the turmoil!  I’d already decided I didn’t want to see a GP through fear of being put on medication or a counsellor as a past experience with one wasn’t a great one to be honest, so I felt all hope was lost!; BUT then I heard about Hypnotherapy and how it really helped people who were battling all sorts issues, so I looked it up and thankfully came across Flavia!

Flavia is very easy to talk to, you don’t feel at all judged or uneasy in her company. She really listened to me and what it was I wanted to achieve in my life and then she worked with me to get rid of all the bad stuff, well I like to use the word ‘demons’ that were holding me back. It worked for me and I feel so much better, the choices I make now I know are relatively good ones as I’ve made them with a clear head and an end goal. If more people found a ‘Flavia’ instead of seeking alternative help I truly feel ‘most’ wouldn’t need to be on long term medication for depression or anxiety. I’m no doctor but I’ve seen first hand how this treatment really does work, you just have to go with an open mind and actually want to get the help. If you don’t then you’d be wasting your time, her time and your money. If you do truly want help, she’s the lady for YOU!

Thank you once again Flavia!

CB

This going to be one of the most important decisions in your life. Not knowing if it’s the right choice for you or not but the only way is going forward and investing in yourself remember that ! I went to see Flavia for help not knowing if Flavia could help me or not , but it was the best investment I have ever made and helped me turned my life round. I can’t thank Flavia enough and how much she as helped me .be kind to yourself it’s the best thing you will ever do.

OR

Having had reservations as to whether this would work for me I took the plunge and had 6 sessions of treatment with Flavia. Flavia was so supportive and professional throughout, nothing was ever too much. Her support levels throughout and after was truly amazing. So did the treatment work? Absolutely it did and the end results for me far exceeded my expectations. Have the belief…It works. Thank you Flavia so much and to everyone reading this then give this girl a try..Amazing.

IB

Flavia is an amazing person and hypnotherapist. She has helped me greatly, is very professional and I would recommend a session with her to anybody. She can help you overcome any phobias, anxieties and also generally help you to feel better about yourself. I look forward to my sessions with her as I leave the session feeling very positive, relaxed, calm and motivated.

EV

Thank you so much for the hypnotherapy sessions , right from our first appointment to the last I found you professional as well as being very understanding . The sessions themselves have assisted me greatly and l am now much less stressed and anxious , I would recommend your services to anyone, many thanks again.

JW

I have known Flavia for a lot of years. When Flavia first knew that I needed help It was by a chance meeting in a shop. She never said what she was studying. When she had passed her qualifications I saw her post and asked for her help. (She said she was going to contact me anyway). Flavia has helped me over the past 6 weeks through hypnotherapy and other techniques. I can’t thank her enough for the personal touch and understanding. She has always been there when I needed her for advise and encouragement. Her voice is so soothing to listen to and makes you feel really safe. I would highly recommend Flavia to anyone who is in need of therapy. Believe me I wouldn’t be as well as I am now without her fantastic,interpersonal skills and the way she has so much understanding and passion in her well being therapy,hypnosis and life coaching. Flavia also tells me if there are any seminars which would be good for me to attend. Thank you for all your help and more.

TH

I visited Flavia some months ago with 3 different issues/problems that were affecting my everyday life. I was her case study and practice for qualifying. We are now part way through my therapy, 2 of the issues are ‘fixed’, they will never disappear but no longer part of each and everyday. The third we are part way through dealing with. I find Flavia to be highly professional in her approach, yet thoughtful and understanding. I have been to other therapists before, where clearly you are just the next name on today’s list. Flavia is the complete opposite, personable, caring and genuinely wants to help.
